Elections for members of the Student Council Student Council

Dear Colleagues,

At a General Assembly of the Student Council at the Medical University of Varna, a decision was made to hold the elections for members of the Student Council for the 2026–2028 term.

The deadline for submitting applications was 02.04 (Thursday) at 11:59 PM. We present to you the profiles of the candidates who submitted their applications within the designated deadline.

Please note that the voting will take place on April 8th via the Webstudent platform in the "Surveys" section. Further information and detailed instructions will be provided in the upcoming days.

Major: Medicine

First year

Alper Shener Ahmed

Alper is a first-year student in the Medicine degree program. He possesses a strong work ethic and the ability to remain resilient under pressure, allowing him to adapt effectively to the challenges of medical studies. He is a highly efficient team player who values collaboration and is dedicated to being a reliable, hardworking contributor.Alper is strongly motivated to join the Student Council to establish a solid connection between first-year students and the university administration, ensuring that his peers' collective needs are accurately represented. Within the organization, he is eager to coordinate events, manage informational campaigns, and lead projects that enhance the overall academic and social experience at the Medical University of Varna.

Aqil Saif

Aqil is a highly effective communicator who combines professional confidence with a natural ability to show empathy when needed. While he prefers to take on leadership roles, he is highly adaptable and fully committed to supporting the team in whatever capacity is required to ensure collective success. Driven by a passion for personal and professional growth, he is eager to develop new skills and learn from his peers. He thrives in collaborative environments and is dedicated to contributing his energy and focus to the team, all while striving for continuous development as both a student and a future professional.

Jesna Varghese

Jesna is a first-year student already actively involved in the MU-Varna English Book Club. With prior experience in leadership and student councils, she thrives in collaborative settings and is known for being reliable, efficient, and dependable. She consistently strives to refine her work to meet the highest standards. Eager to make the most of her academic environment, she is dedicated to ensuring her peers’ voices are heard and would love to introduce more recreational art and music activities. She views this opportunity as an exceptional experience for her future aspirations in global health, as it provides a platform to engage with diverse environments and make a meaningful impact.

Luis Grammatikou

Luis is a highly motivated first-year medical student with a strong background in leadership and humanitarian work. At MU-Varna, he is already active in the Medimeisterschaften committee and serves as a study group leader. His experience as a class representative, coach, and international volunteer has equipped him with exceptional teamwork and responsibility.Ambitious and committed to excellence, Luis thrives in collaborative environments. He aims to strengthen communication within the Student Council and build initiatives that benefit the entire student body. By leveraging his global network, he hopes to foster partnerships with organizations like the Red Cross, ensuring a lasting, positive contribution to our university community.

Müslüm Başak

Müslüm is a dedicated first-year medical student currently serving as Group Leader of Group 7, where he excels at coordinating academic matters and facilitating communication between students and faculty. With a background in social projects in Germany, he has developed strong skills in organizing workshops, conducting clear communication, and working responsibly within a team. His key strengths include reliability, organizational talent, and a natural ability to mediate effectively. He is passionate about fostering a positive, respectful atmosphere where every student feels heard. Motivated by a genuine desire to serve the wider student community, he is eager to join the Student Council to help improve the academic environment and build better connections between students.

Praise Oluwafunmilayo Olorunnniwo

Praise is a motivated first-year medical student who brings valuable leadership experience from her secondary school, where she was heavily involved in student council and peer mentorship programs. As a supportive, encouraging, and responsible team player, she thrives in collaborative environments and is always eager to contribute to the success of her peers. Her primary goal is to foster a stronger, more transparent relationship between the student body and the university management.
