The Handball Team at MU-Varna Became Vice-Champion of the National Universiade Sofia 2018

The handball team at MU-Varna ranked second in the final ranking of the Handball Tournament, a part of the National Universiade Sofia 2018. An organizer of the sports event is the Association for University Sports “Academic”.

This was the first competition of the newly-formed team at the beginning of this year. The coach of the men’s team is Penko Zlatev.

MU – Varna won an uncompromising victory at the match with the team of the University of Architecture and Geodesy – Sofia on 15th May. On the following day the victory was absolutely confirmed, defeating the team of the Technical University – Sofia.

The boys from MU – Varna lost and ranked second in the final ranking after an intriguing and challenging match with the National Sports Academy.

The newest University sports team consists of students from the Bulgarian and English Language Programmes, including – Bjarne Nichman, Georgi Georgiev, Michael Staub, Stefan Noulis, Johannes Krige, Dennis Vegner, Florian Bistman, Tsvetomir Hristov, Rob Ryozgen, Jean Popov, Nicholas Fuchs, Stanislav Petrov, Boris Borisov and Stoyan Stankov.
